Three-Day Workshop on Research Methodology for PhD Scholars

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, in collaboration with the Central Research Laboratory and Research Directorate, conducted a three-day Workshop on Research Methodology from 12th–14th November 2025. The program aimed to equip PhD scholars with essential skills for designing, conducting, and presenting high-quality research. Topics covered included Foundations of Research, Study Design and Measurement, Sampling and Power, and Scientific Presentation.

A total of 10 participants from diverse specializations—including Speech and Hearing, Critical Care Medicine, and Psychiatry—attended the workshop. The event began with the Lighting of the Lamp, followed by expert sessions from faculty members:

  • Dr. Ravi Shirahatti – Principles and Types of Research, Clinical Trials, Sample Size Estimation, and Research Protocol Development

  • Dr. Shodan – Experimental Design and Intervention Studies

  • Dr. Hema – Phases of Clinical Trials, Sampling Theory, and Techniques

  • Dr. Zeba – Hypothesis Development, Variables, and Levels of Measurement

The workshop concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony, where certificates were awarded by Dr. K. Sathyamurthy (Research Director), Dr. Lekha K. P. (Vice Principal), and Dr. Ravi Shirahatti (Professor & Head).
