The 24th IPS PG Convention, 2022 was conducted in SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital,
Dharwad; and the Shri D. Veerendra Heggade Kalakshetra on the 4th, 5th and 6th of March 2022.
It was organized by the Department of Prosthodontics, SDM College of Dental Sciences and
Hospital, in collaboration with the Indian Prosthodontic Society. The organization committee was
headed by Dr. Ramesh K. Nadiger, Organizing Chairman, Dr. Konark Patil, Organizing Secretary;
Dr. Lekha K, Treasurer; Dr. Roseline Meshramkar, Scientific Chairman; Dr. Satyabodh Guttal,
Scientific Co-chairman with a team of 8 staff members and 24 post graduate students.
The conference was attended by postgraduates and delegates from all the country, and there
were total of 1772 registered candidates.

Day 1 kickstarted with the Pre-Convention Courses (PCC); 26 PCCs which were mentored by 71
experts in the field was successfully conducted, for which over 1300 students participated.
This was immediately followed by the scientific sessions, for which presentations were received
in roaring numbers. There were 357 paper presentations, 312 posters and 90 table clinics in total
which were judged by more than 200 chairpersons. A separate session was conducted for the
prestigious Dr. EGR Solomon award for the 2 best scientific papers under the original research
category.

For the valedictory function, along with 80 paper presentation winners, 60 poster winners and
12 table clinic winners; prizes were given to overall best scientific paper, poster and table clinic.
Concurrently, Gurubodhane was held where 20 mentors had a one-on-one interaction with over
150 students.

Apart from scientific sessions, a cultural event – Voice of Prosthodontics was conducted in the
evening, in the auditorium, for which 20 students participated and competed for the first place.
Day 2 started with the formal inauguration of the convention which was graced by Chief Guest,
Shri Pralhad Joshi, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines of India; Guest of Honour,
Prof. Seshu, Director, IIT Dharwad; Prof. Dr. Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Balaram Naik,
Principal, SDMCDSH and the IPS, head office President, Vice Presidents and Secretary.
Subsequently, the scientific deliberations began with the beaming keynote speakers. Seven
lectures took place on the day 2 followed by another seven on day 3. There were eminent
speakers from all over the country and also an international speaker from Nepal. They discussed
a vast array of topics right from fixed prosthodontics, implants, maxillofacial prosthetics,
esthetics and temporo-mandibular disorders.

A peppy Prosthodontics Fun Quiz was also conducted in the evening of Day 2, where 40 students
participated.

Trade exhibition was arranged where 20 dental associated companies set up stalls, including
brands like BioLine, Refirm and Illusion Dental.

A lavish gala banquet dinner was arranged on day 2 at Ambarai Gardens, Dharwad which was
attended by the delegates and students in large numbers.

The convention concluded with the valedictory function and distribution of certificates to all the
delegates and participants.
