The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, SDM Craniofacial Unit, SDM College of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, Dharwad, successfully organized “SDM TRAUMACON”, a comprehensive Maxillofacial Trauma Hands-on Workshop under the guidance of Dr. Venkatesh Anehosur, Professor & Head, in association with KAOMSI – Karnataka State Chapter.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation of over 140 delegates, including speakers, instructors, sponsors, postgraduate students, and clinicians from various institutions. The programme was inaugurated in the presence of the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Balaram Naik (Principal), and other dignitaries. The event was led by Dr. Venkatesh Anehosur, who served as the Organising Chairman, and also in his capacity as KAOMSI President.

The scientific programme featured expert lectures by eminent faculty focusing on trauma management principles, surgical approaches, fixation techniques, and recent advancements in maxillofacial surgery. The academic sessions were complemented by interactive hands-on training, offering participants practical exposure to plate bending, adaptation techniques, and fracture fixation principles, thereby enhancing clinical competence and surgical skills.

A dedicated trade exhibition showcased advanced surgical instruments, fixation systems, and pharmaceutical products from leading sponsors, providing participants insight into the latest innovations in the field. The workshop further encouraged professional networking through academic interactions and curated social engagement activities.
