‘National Periodontist Day’ is celebrated on 23^rd February to commemorate the date of inception of the Indian Society of Periodontology. To celebrate the Golden Jubilee year of the society, the Department of Periodontics, SDMCDSH, conducted various events with a central theme of periodontal health and awareness.

Oral awareness talk by the postgraduates.

The postgraduate students of the department actively emphasized the importance of periodontal health to the patients in the OPD waiting area of every department in the college.

 

Soap carving competition for the postgraduates.

A soap carving competition on the theme of ‘Periodontium’ was conducted for the postgraduate students. An enthusiastic response was seen among the students.

 

Lecture on “Scope of Periodontics as a Speciality” to the house-surgeons.

A lecture on the topic “Navigating Tomorrow: Scope of Periodontology as a Speciality” was conducted by Dr. Akanksha K. S., Assistant Professor, Department of Periodontics to the house-surgeons.

 

Toothbrush samples provided by Group Pharmaceuticals in association with ISP were also distributed to the patients visiting the department.

 

The department enthusiastically participated in the various events and ensured National Periodontist Day was celebrated successfully.
