The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital in collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics, SDM College Medical Sciences and Hospital initiated the opening of the Infant Oral Health Care Cell at OPD block of Department of Pediatrics.

Infant Oral Health Care Cell was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Niranjan Kumar and Executive Director, Smt. Padmalatha Niranjan. The objective of the Infant Oral Health Care Cell is to provide oral health checkup for Infants and children aged 1 to 6 years. It aims to provide solutions for problems related to tooth eruption, nursing bottle caries and teeth which are present at the time of birth or during the first 30 days after the birth.

The occasion was graced by Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration) Mr. Jeevandhar Kumar, Dr. Balaram Naik, Principal SDM College of Dental Sciences and Vice Principals Dr. Lekha K and Dr. Anand Tavargeri, Dr. Vijay Kulkarni, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Shruthi Patil, Head of the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry and staff of both the Departments.
