Dr. Anupama V, Additional Associate Professor, Department of Orthodontics, was invited as a Guest Speaker at the Indian Orthodontic Society’s 1st Bihar–Jharkhand Orthodontic Symposium, hosted by Buddha Institute. She delivered a lecture on “Digital Tools and Automation for Aligners.”

Her session highlighted the advantages of in-house aligner planning and fabrication, including customized treatment planning and the ability to combine segmental fixed orthodontics with aligner therapy in complex cases. She emphasized the importance of understanding digital design software to optimize force systems, apply accurate counter-tip and torque, and incorporate correct staging protocols for predictable outcomes.

Dr. Anupama also demonstrated the use of the open-access software “Blue Sky Bio” for virtual aligner setups and other applications, showcasing its potential in efficient digital orthodontic workflows.
