The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, , organized the CDE Program and Valedictory Function “PATH-O-GNANA 2026” on the occasion of celebrated on 25th February 2026.
The program marked the culmination of a week-long series of academic and co-curricular activities conducted from 16th to 21st February 2026, which included:
The valedictory function commenced with invocation and lamp lighting, followed by the welcome address and an overview of the activities conducted during the week. Prize distribution and certificate presentation were carried out for the winners of the various competitions.
A special highlight of the program was the felicitation ceremony, wherein was honored for her valuable academic contributions, and Mrs. Hema Gudagudi, Senior Lab Technician, Department of OMFPOM, SDMCDSH, was felicitated in recognition of her dedicated service of more than three decades as a vital contributor to the department.
In addition, the 1st and 3rd BDS toppers of the Academic Year 2024–25 in the subjects Dental Anatomy and Dental Histology, and Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, respectively, were felicitated for their outstanding academic achievement in the examinations on the occasion of National Oral Pathologist Day.
The academic highlight of the event was the Continuing Dental Education (CDE) lecture delivered by on the topic “From Creativity to Classrooms: Powering Visual Learning in Dentistry”, wherein she emphasized innovative teaching-learning methodologies, including the use of digital platforms, 3D animations, and visual learning tools to enhance dental education.
The department expresses its sincere gratitude and appreciation to all faculty members, postgraduate students, and non-teaching staff for their wholehearted involvement, meticulous planning, and dedicated efforts in organizing and successfully executing the program.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, celebrating the spirit of academic excellence, collaboration, innovation, and the advancement of Oral Pathology.
