World No Tobacco Day was celebrated in SDM Dental College by the Dept. of Oral Medicine and Radiology. Poojya Shri D. Veerendra Heggade, Hon’ble Chancellor was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. The Faculty, Non-Teaching Staff and Students have done various activities on the eve of “World No Tobacco Day”.

Dental Screening Camps, Guest Lectures, Skits and Slogans were conducted to give the awareness on effects of Tobacco chewing; a special talk was given in the SDM Aarogya Samvada

Poojya Shri D. Veerendra Heggade addressed the Faculty and Students of SDM Dental College and told that:
• He told the Faculty & Students not only make SDM Campus Tobacco free but also extend the campaign to entire the Hubli & Dharwad
• He mentioned in Dharmasthala & Ujire we have made No Tobacco Region since 1982.
• He updated the effects and sufferings of the people who continues to chew tobacco.

Shri V Jeevandhar Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Balaram Naik, Principal, Dr. Anand Tavergeri and Dr. Lekha P, Vice Principals, University Officials, Heads of the Institutions and Students in large number participated in the program.

Dr. Kirty Nandimath, Prof. & Head of the Dept. welcomed the Guests. Dr. Santhosh Reddy compered the program. Dr. Sannidhi invoked the blessings. Dr. Vijayalakshmi proposed the vote of thanks.
