On account of International Day of Radiology which is celebrated on 8^th November every year, few events were organized to commumerate this day. An essay competition was held for Under graduate and Post graduate students titled “Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology: Then and Now”.

On 8th Nov, an awareness message was broadcasted in kannada, held as a radio talk by Dr. Vijaylaxmi on ‘Dental CT scan: What is it and Why do you need one’ aired at 9 am and 5.55pm on KLE dhwani.

Inaugration of the webinar was held on 10^th November 2021 at 9.30am. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Niranjan Kumar graced the occasion as chief guest for the function. Mr. Saketh Shetty, Director Administration and Dr. Balaram Naik, Principal, SDMCDSH were also present for the event.

Dr. Kirty R Nandimath, Prof and HOD welcomed the gathering, this was followed by prize distribution for the essay competition winners.

Dr.Vijaylaxmi Basavaraddi introduced the guest speaker for the webinar and Dr. Kruthika Guttal Presented the vote of thanks.

This was followed by online webinar at 10.30am on the topic “CBCT images: Fundamentals and interpretation” by Dr. Lahari A Telang, Associate professor and Head of the Department, Dept of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Penang International Dental College, Malaysia. Around 250 participants from various colleges joined for the webinar.
