On the occasion of World No-Tobacco Day, the Departments of Oral Medicine & Radiology and Public Health Dentistry of SDM College of Dental Sciences & Hospital jointly conducted an Oral Screening and Health Education Camp at IIIT Dharwad.

A health awareness talk titled “Ill Effects of Tobacco on Oral and General Health” was delivered by Dr. Kruthika Guttal, Professor, Dept. of Oral Medicine and Radiology. The session focused on creating awareness among young adults about the harmful impact of tobacco usage.

The dental team comprised:

• Dr. Kruthika Guttal (Professor, Dept. of OMR)

• Dr. Veena Pujari (Associate Professor, Dept. of OMR)

• Dr. Zeba (Assistant Professor, Dept. of PHD)

• Dr. Megha Mary George (Tutor, Dept. of OMR)

• Postgraduate students and interns

A total of 53 individuals were screened, counseled, and referred as needed. The initiative successfully emphasized preventive dental care and promoted tobacco cessation.
