The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry organized a talk on Cyber Crime by Mr. B. K. Patil, Police Inspector, CEN Cyber, Hubli-Dharwad City, on 7th August. The session aimed to create awareness about the rising incidents of crime on digital platforms.

With increasing dependency on mobile phones, sensitive information such as private data, bank details, and passwords stored on them has made individuals vulnerable to cybercriminals. Mr. Patil, who heads the Cybercrime Division for Hubli-Dharwad, addressed an audience of 60 participants, including faculty, interns, postgraduates, and non-teaching staff.

He emphasized the importance of alertness while handling suspicious messages on social media and explained the various methods used in online fraud. He also highlighted precautionary measures to be taken while using mobile applications and online platforms.
