The Department of Public Health Dentistry conducted an Oral Cancer Screening and Health Education Program at Sangedevarkoppa Village, Kalghatagi Taluk, Dharwad, in collaboration with ICS, on 20th November 2024.

The Dental Team comprised:

• Faculty: Dr. Shodan M
• Postgraduate: Dr. Joel Koshy
• House Surgeons: Dr. Abhishek C, Dr. Abhishek Jain, Dr. Abhirami

A total of 66 individuals underwent oral health screening. Those requiring additional treatments were referred to SDM College of Dental Sciences & Hospital (SDMCDSH) through referral cards.

This initiative highlights the department’s ongoing commitment to promoting oral health awareness and early detection of oral cancer in rural communities.
