The Department of Public Health Dentistry conducted an Oral Health Education and Oral Cancer Screening Camp at Aladakatti village, Kalaghatagi Taluk, Dharwad District on June 25, 2024 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Event Highlights:
Collaborators: Organized in collaboration with the Indian Cancer Society, Bangalore, and accompanied by a team from SDM Medical College and Hospital for breast and cervical cancer screening.

Key Achievements:

• Screened Patients: A total of 84 patients were screened for oral cancer.
• Tobacco Cessation: 14 patients received tobacco cessation counseling.
• Referrals: Patients requiring further treatment were referred to SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital (SDMCDSH) through referral cards.

Impact:
This initiative aims to enhance oral health awareness, provide early detection of oral cancer, and offer necessary follow-up treatments to improve overall community health.
