The Department of Periodontics at SDM College of Dental Sciences & Hospital conducted a two-day CDE programme on “Periodontal Plastic Surgery” on 28th–29th May 2025. The event aimed to enhance both theoretical understanding and clinical proficiency in periodontal plastic procedures.

The resource person for the program was Dr. Nihal Devkar, Professor, Sinhagad Dental College & Hospital, Pune. Dr. Devkar delivered comprehensive lectures on root coverage techniques, highlighting current evidence-based practices, clinical protocols, and illustrative case presentations.

A major highlight of the event was the live demonstration of two periodontal surgeries, which were streamed for real-time viewing by the participants. This was followed by a hands-on workshop, providing attendees the opportunity to practice various root coverage techniques under expert guidance.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from interns, postgraduates from Periodontics and Prosthodontics, faculty members, and implant fellows. The program was widely appreciated for its academic value, clinical relevance, and hands-on learning experience.
