The Department of Prosthodontics, Crown, and Bridge successfully organized its first-ever Fixed Crown Camp from 10th to 15th February 2025.This initiative combined conventional and CAD-CAM techniques to provide high-quality fixed prosthodontic treatment while enhancing postgraduate students’ clinical skills.
The camp aimed to rehabilitate patients with missing or compromised teeth using fixed dental prostheses, improving oral function, aesthetics, and overall dental health.
To maintain quality, all patients were screened from 23rd January to 1st February 2025, and necessary oral prophylaxis and crown lengthening procedures were completed beforehand with the help of department of Periodontics. Over six days, 70 patients received treatment
Which includes:
Cementation of 100 crowns to restore function and appearance.
Five post-and-core procedures to reinforce endodontically treated teeth.
Postgraduate students and interns gained hands -on experience in crown preparation, impression techniques, and cementation under faculty supervision.
Four Prosthodontic technicians worked round the clock to complete the cases, while first-year postgraduate students assisted them, gaining valuable exposure to lab work.
The Fixed Crown Camp was a well-organized, groundbreaking initiative, benefiting both patients and students under the guidance of Dr.Harikesh Rao ,the Head of the Department (HOD) and all the faculties of the department.Such programs enhance patient care while advancing clinical training in prosthodontics and restorative dentistry
