Dr. Ashith Acharya Professor and Head ,Dept of Forensic odontology was invited to deliver a guest lecture in Karwar by the Indian Dental Association, Uttara Kannada Branch, on 23 March 2025 as part of their 3rd Continual Dental Education for dentists of the entire district.

About 30 senior and established private dental practitioners from Honnavar, Dandeli, Kumta, Gokarna, Bhatkal, and Karwar attended the 90-minute lecture which was entitled “The Practice of Dentistry in the Field of Forensics – A Potent Weapon for the Justice System”.

There was a stream of questions from the audience on the methods and procedures used in forensic odontology and how this can be used to assist in police cases. The lecture was well appreciated by all and Dr.Ashith Acharya was felicitated Indian Dental Association, Uttara Kannada Branch for his exemplary experience and expertise in the field of forensic odontology.
