The Library Department of SDM College of Dental Sciences & Hospital celebrated Librarians’ Day 2026 on 19 August 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from the academic community.
The programme was attended by the Principal, Heads of various Departments, faculty members, library staff and students. The presence and active participation of the dignitaries, staff and students added significance and enthusiasm to the celebration.
The Principal and Heads of various Departments appreciated the efforts of the Library Department in organizing the programme and highlighted the vital role of libraries in supporting teaching, learning, research, knowledge sharing and overall academic development.
Faculty members, library staff and students actively participated in the various activities, making the celebration meaningful and successful.
As part of the Librarians’ Day celebration, the Library Department presented the “Best Library User Awards” to students in recognition of their regular and effective use of library resources and services.
To encourage students’ interest in general knowledge, library resources, reading habits and academic learning, the Library Department conducted a Quiz Competition as part of the celebration.

The Library Department sincerely thanked the Principal, Heads of Departments, faculty members, library staff and students for their valuable cooperation, support and wholehearted participation.
Their encouragement and active involvement contributed greatly to making Librarians’ Day Celebration 2026 a memorable and successful event, while highlighting the library’s continued role as an integral part of academic and research excellence.
