The PG Orientation Lecture Series for the I MDS students was conducted from 16th to 18th October 2025, featuring sessions designed to ease the transition into postgraduate training and strengthen foundational skills.

Day 1 – 16th October 2025

• Academic Stress Management: Delivered by the Head of Deaddiction Services, DIMHANS, Dharwad, followed by a practical stress-management session by Dr. Aishwarya Jog.

• Introduction to SDM University: Dr. Balram Naik, Principal, familiarized students with the university’s history, core values, and ethos.

• Infection Control in Dentistry: Conducted by Dr. Mihir Kulkarni, In-charge, Department of Implantology.

Day 2 – 17th October 2025

• Dental Photography: Lecture by Dr. Harikesh Rao, Head, Department of Prosthodontics.

• Effective Academic Presentation: Covered by Dr. Harshavardhan Kidiyoor, Professor of Orthodontics.

• Academic Calendar & Examination Pattern: Explained by Dr. Satyabodh Guttal, Controller of Examinations.

Day 3 – 18th October 2025

• Documentation & Medico-Legal Aspects: Delivered by Dr. Ashith Acharya.

• Effective Patient Communication: Session by Dr. Atul Sattur.

• Basic Kannada Communication for Non-Kannadiga Students: Conducted by Dr. Preetha Shetty.

The three-day series ensured that new postgraduate students received comprehensive guidance on academic, clinical, and communication essentials as they begin their MDS journey.
