At the 22nd National Conference of the Indian Association of Forensic Odontology (IAFO), held at the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on 13–14 September 2025, Dr. Ashith B. Acharya assumed office as President of the association he co-founded in 2000 as a young dental graduate.

Over the years, Dr. Acharya has held several significant positions within the IAFO — serving as Executive Member for four years (2006–2010), as Honorary Secretary for thirteen years (2010–2023), and as President-elect for two years (2023–2025). Notably, he is the only member to have attended all 22 national conferences of the association and was a guest speaker at its inaugural conference in 2002 in Chennai.

During the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Acharya expressed his gratitude to the IAFO for its continued trust and support over the past two decades. He also extended his appreciation to the institutions that shaped his professional journey — Adelaide University (Australia), B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (Nepal), and SDM University (Dharwad).

This milestone marks a significant achievement in Dr. Acharya’s distinguished career and further strengthens his long-standing contributions to the field of forensic odontology in India and beyond.
