The Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, SDM College of Dental Sciences & Hospital (SDMCDSH), celebrated the International Day of Radiology 2024 with a series of events during Roentgen Week, centered around the theme “Radiographers: Seeing the Unseen”. The week highlighted the critical role of radiographic techniques in healthcare and emphasized the responsibility of professionals to safeguard patient health.

  • Topic: “Temporomandibular Joint – With Sound Waves and Less”
  • Speaker: Dr. Ashwini Deshpande, Professor, Zydus Medical College
• Competitions:
  • E-Poster & Reels Competition for students
  • Rangoli Competition for support staff
  • Enthusiastic participation made the competitions vibrant and engaging.
• Public Awareness Initiatives:
  • A radio talk on KLE Dwani (8th November) and an article in Niranthara Pragathi titled “Danta Chikitsalaya CBCT Scan Na Mahatva” were presented by Dr. Vijaylakshmi B., Associate Professor, OMDR, to educate the public on the importance of CBCT in dental care.
• Valedictory Function:
  • Chief Guest: Dr. A. C. Dekha, former Radiation Oncologist at Karnataka Cancer Therapy & Research Centre, Navanagar, delivered a thought-provoking talk on patient safety in radiology.
  • Guests of Honor:

  • The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony to recognize the winners of the competitions.
