The 31st Graduation day of SDM Dental College was held on Monday, 29th August, 2022 at D. Veerendra Heggade Kalakshetra. Dr. K B Gudasi, Vice Chancellor of Karnatak University Dharwad, Dr. Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SDM University were the Chief Guests. The Graduation Day was formally inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief Guests and Dr. S K Joshi, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Chidendra M Shettar, Registrar and other Dignitaries were present.
Poojya Shri D. Veerendra Heggade, Chancellor of the University virtually blessed the graduates and told that:
• Good rankings and responsibilities comes hand-in-hand to the responsible Institutions.
• Quality teaching and training to the Students are the parameters to any good Institutions.
• Graduating Doctors must act as an Ambassador between them and the Society
• Doctors must remember their Alma matter when they reach the peak of their profession.
• Doctors must always follow the Culture and good communication when practices.
• Kind words of the Doctors heal the patient better than the medicine.
• Doctors should treat the patients with love, care and with concentration.
• Finally he wished all the Graduating Students a bright future and told to upholds the values of the SDM Institutions.
There were 91 Undergraduates (BDS) and 41 Postgraduates (MDS) received the Degrees from the Chief Guests. After awarding the degrees, Dr. K B Gudasi, Vice Chancellor of Karnatak University Dharwad told that:
• Graduates must thankful to their Teachers and Parents
• SDM Dental College produces quality Dental Doctors from the last 3 decades
• SDM Dental Doctors renders high quality Oral Health to this part of Karnataka.
The Graduation Ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Niranjan Kumar and he told that:
• Doctors should learn the art of living and live without fears
• Always dream for achieving the excellence
• Before choosing a profession must think properly and should not look back
• Doctors should available to their patients and treat them with ability and concern.
Dr. Balaram Naik, the Principal of Dental College welcomed the Guests and presented the Annual Report. Dr. Kiran Kumar, Dr. Kritika Guttal and Dr. Gouri Anehosur presented the Graduates. Dr. Aishwarya Nayak and Dr. Mihir Kulkarni conducted the program. Prof. Ramesh Nadiger administered the Oath to the graduates. Dr. Satyabodh Guttal, Controller of Examinations presented the Ph.D. Scholars. Dr Shruti Vishwakarma, BDS Student and Dr. Ujjya, MDS Student shared their experiences.
Dr. Shruti Vishwakarma, Dr. Alen Davis are the Gold Medallist of Rajiv Gandhi University.
All the students received their degrees from the Prof. K B Gudsi and Dr. Niranjan Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellors. There were 9 meritorious students from BDS and 1 from MDS who received the Gold Medals.
